Who we are

Pitaya is a desktop meeting assistant for macOS and Windows, published at usepitaya.com. For any question about this policy or about your data, contact hello@usepitaya.com.

What the website collects

If you submit your email address on this site, we store that address so we can contact you about Pitaya, and we send you a confirmation email. We use Firebase Realtime Database (Google) to store it and Resend to deliver the email.

If analytics is enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic, such as page views and referral sources. The site sets no advertising cookies.

What the app collects

When you record a meeting, the audio is sent to Pitaya's transcription service so it can be turned into text. Pitaya does not store your raw audio: it is used to produce the transcript and is discarded afterwards.

The resulting transcripts and summaries are encrypted and synced across the devices signed in to your account, so you can search them later.

Pitaya does not join your call as a participant and does not run a screen recorder.

The app also sends usage events to PostHog, such as opening the app, starting or stopping a recording, generating a summary or granting a permission, along with the app version and your account identifier. These events never include audio, transcripts, summaries, notes or meeting titles. We use them to see where people get stuck and what to improve.

Recording other people

You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you and the other participants are located. In many places you must tell the other people on the call that the conversation is being recorded or transcribed, and in some places you must obtain their consent. Pitaya gives you the tool; the obligation to inform participants is yours.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the product: Vercel (website hosting), Google Firebase (database and account infrastructure), Resend (transactional email), Google Analytics (website measurement, when enabled), PostHog (app usage events) and a speech-to-text provider used to generate transcripts. Each of them processes data only to deliver the function described above.

Connecting AI tools (MCP)

Pitaya has an optional MCP server that lets AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code read your meetings. Nothing is shared until you connect a tool yourself, either by approving it on usepitaya.com/connect or by creating a personal token there.

A connected tool can read your meeting titles, dates, summaries, the notes you wrote, action items, transcripts, contexts, templates and plan. It can't record, edit, delete or share anything. Pitaya only sends a meeting when the tool asks for it.

Once a tool reads a meeting, its provider (for example Anthropic, OpenAI or Anysphere) processes that content under its own terms and privacy policy, not this one. Pitaya logs which tool made a request and when, but not what the request or the answer contained.

You can see every connection, when it was last used, and revoke it at usepitaya.com/connect. Revoking takes effect on the next request. Deleting your account removes all connections and tokens.

How long we keep data

Email addresses collected on this site are kept until you ask us to delete them. Transcripts and summaries are kept in your account until you delete them or close your account. Raw meeting audio is not retained after the transcript is produced.

Your rights

Under the Brazilian LGPD and the European GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. Send the request to hello@usepitaya.com and we will respond.

Children

Pitaya is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you by email.
